Things I LOVE!!!!!!!!! doing:

waking up at 9 am after tossing and turning, than getting to sleep around 5 am.

getting dressed and ready in a cute dress and heals

speed walking the ten minutes to my bus stop for the 9 40 bus to get to my 10 am

finding the bus driver outside smoking a cigarette, who tells me the 9 40 bus isnt running

when asking why, being told because it just isnt.

walking 40 minutes on wet cobblestone in the rain

getting passed by TWO 9 40 buses going to my stop

getting lost and ending up at surbiton station

having no money to get a bus, and no money on my oyster card

having to walk into town take out money and walk out of town again to catch another bus to campus

and FINALLY

arriving at my 10 am half an hour late to find the tutor cancelled class due to `severe weather' aka rain in england.

really. i love it SO much it HURTS!

Living the English Life

I have not been able to breath since the last post, let alone stop to write anything!!!!

First off, here's what the atlantic looks like over here:

JADE green. beautiful. and a rocky shore.  bitter cold, but beautiful. we spent the whole day at Brighton beach on England's French coast.  There's a ton of high end shops and of course the beach and the pier, and than there's the Royal Pavillion, this unbelievable castle built by one of the Kings (I believe George V).  We couldn't take pictures inside but this was the outside

Yeah not too shabby.

We have been running all over London, I swear I must have walked about 15 miles.

Well Kingston is fantastic, really really really great.  This is my first night in, and while I have had so much fun going out I really needed the night in to talk to my parents and to E2 and just remember who I was for a minute!!  I spent all yesterday in central London, Westminster and Louchester, seeing the sights and than going to the pubs at night.  Me and my friend Sara from Kansas City ended up going off on our own and meeting two really cute english guys. Hahaha we are true charmers, things are easier when you just play up the "accent" we supposedly have. These are the boys, Andy (his real name is Rasputen? I dont know.) with the crazy Robert Pattinson hair, and Will the Michael Phelps lookalike:

The pictures are really small, I know.  I was thinking later this week when I had the chance to stop and relax I'll make an ENE flickr page for everyone to check out as well.  Anyway we had planned to meet up with the boys tomorrow night but one won't be in town and the other one has a football match to play (yeah I'm talking British!). Oh well!! We're heading into London tomorrow again so maybe we'll meet some more charming Englishmen haha.  Heres our group outside of Parliament, and the changing of the guards

As I was waiting to catch my bus back home from London I ended up running into Kerry.  Kerry was the tenant at my house a year or so ago, and she ended up getting together with Torie's oldest son, Alex.  Now she's moved back to Kingston full-time and they're living together.  I had met her before when I moved in on the first day, but this was my first time really getting to hang out and talk and it was the first time I met Alex.  They were both soo cool and it was really great getting to know them, but I had had quite a lot to drink by the end of the night!!!  I was so so so so hungover this morning.

Friday was orientation.  We all went through about six hours of pointless orientation stuff and than went out to the pubs and hopped around drinking here and there.  It was really really fun.

Anyway, I really do love it here.  Our group of friends is pretty close, there was no awkward adjustment period or anything.  The things I am having problems with: not being able to randomly text E2 throughout the day with pointless life tidbits, easy transportation, and FOOD. i have eaten 2 meals in the last 4 days!!!! Last night I was so hungry that I was getting these insane muscle cramps and I was like scared!! Haha my friend offered to drop me food off but we all live fairly far away from each other so I turned him down.

Transportation is a BITCH. I haven't gotten a bus home successfully yet. I hate it. It's driving me nuts. Really I miss cars and stuff. And I miss Toby and E2 annnnd chicken cheesesteaks.  So if I could get all those here that would be perfection!!!!!

Ok, well more later!

So this morning I was awoken by my mother at 6 am, who told me classes were canceled until noon.  I had some weird dreams, but that's about it.
That is my day with no Erica.

So I'm here in England!

Lets skip past all that annoying crappy flight junk- the flight was gr
eat the food was awful blah blah
 blah.

So let me tell you a
bout Kingston/London/Surrey.  It
is something else thats for sure.  There's so much I have to re-teach myself. Even crossing the streets hard because people driving from other sides!!! Making calls, plugging stuff in, its amazing how different the simplest things are!!!  My house that I'm stayin
g at is
so cute, I didn't take a picture of it because dumb me slept all day when I set my alarm to wake up and be done my nap b
ut my alarm didn't go off so I slept til 6 30. I was pretty mad at myself.

I met Nicole and her room mate Matt in the center of
Kingston for
dinner at
the pub, we ended up going to this really FANTASTIC restau-
rant and got the best pasta and a beer.  Nicole and Matt got DELICIOUS wine.  I always thought food was suppose to
be pretty bad but I was so amazed at how great it was.  Coming out of the restaurant this really hot english guy told me I had a sexy accent and I basically freaked out haha.

I HAVE AN ACCENT!? What!? So Bizar
re.

After heading into town I felt much better.      When I woke up from my nap I was feeling really really homesick.  But I've always felt really unsure of all my decisions and tend to get second thoughts.  I really ju
st needed to talk to E2 haha.

Tomorrows going to be madness.  Tons of orientation and class registration and getting to meet people stuff.

So far, I like it. A lot. I like having freedom a lot. We will see.

Well I took  2 sleeping pills and they are kicking me now

The First post by the Second E

My neighbor hood is slowly crumbling away, that is the only way I can describe it, in fact I very well could be the only one left.
Anyway, in order to keep this rediscovered bond as strong as ever, me an Erica decided to give this joint blog a try. This way everyone will know the exciting details of my life (still) in NJ and Erica's (more) exciting life in England.  I think we very well might have something going here, I am patiently waiting millions of readers.  Well you know occasionally I'm an optimist.  I will actually be happy to have one other reader besides myself.
Now it's time for some serious honesty. For me this sucks. not trying to make my first E upset or anything, but this super blows from my position. It was really nice having a best friend, ya know, in my state.  That dream of mine seems to have crumbled away.  Oh well even though four months seems like an eternity to me now, I'm sure in what feels like a few days Erica and I will be back getting temporary tattoos at medport from the sticker machine.
Well I think I should end my first post wishing E1 some luck.  I also would like to reassure her that she will be fine, I know the Englishmen will love her just as much as I do.  I would also like to tell her that she better take lots and lots of pictures and have lots and lots of fun, and that i will miss her.

I also better be receiving a box of weird British candy as well...just a hint.

Last Night In the M.T.L Together!

So, its my last night in New Jersey before I go away. In exactly 21 hours and 58 minutes I will be getting on a plane for London, England.  Four months over at good ol' Kingston University.  Jeeze, four months. This is gonna be the longest time I've ever spent away from my family or my friends, or from New Jersey for that matter!  It's really weird to me.  For the last few minutes I've only been excited about it constantly, but now I don't know!!!! It's not that I don't want to go, I do. I'm just scared of the way people are going to react to me.  Like I have no one over there to fall back on, at least over at home people know what to expect of me and I know who I can rely on.  Plus, of course I'm going to miss being able to just hop in a car and head home for the weekend and see my friends at home, and the whole readjustment is something I'm not sure if I'm ready for.

Oh well, what to do!!!! So this is a public good bye to New Jersey and the second E!!! Take care of the Ramblehood, and cheer really super loud for me during Phillies games (yeah... I'm missing spring training AND the first month of games... sensitive subject? Very.)  At Least we'll have taylor no matter what!!!

Bye Jersey! I love you!!!! See you in a few months!!
